Same Sex Marriage

It seems that everywhere you turn there is some "Contriversy" or dispute about same sex marriage. The Christians, Jews, Muslims, Bhuddists, and many other religious groups have made their opinions clear about opposing or supporting same sex marriage, but unfortunately "Because God said so" doesn't fly in our decadent society.

So, let us examine same sex marriage to come to a better idea of its necessity or disposal.

Same sex marriage is demanded by people who decided on a homosexual (ie. gay, lesbian, bisexual) lifestyle and seek romantic relatioships with other people of the same sex. It is not a demand from any other group except to support their homosexual friends. This is understandable considering that those outside of single-gender relationships would have no need for this type of union. Ok, let us define homosexuality then.

It is not genetic or an inherent property of anyone born human. What is attractive to a person is primarily a learned trait taught by the parents and environment. This is how people in their seventies can fall madly in love with another person of similar advanced age where the rest of society might deem both hideous. Also genetics can only determine general tendencies in a person like depression, mania, aggression, or non-agression mostly caused by a chemical or hormonal imbalance. Although it has been shown that men with naturally high estrogen levels or women with naturally high testosterone levels are more likely to come to the conclusion that they are homosexual.

Homosexuality is a choice, propogation is not. Since our society must have children in order to survive we must create institutions to ensure that they are cared for.

Homosexual couples are incapable of reproduction without some outside source. If they were married, procreation would require infidelity and compromise the marriage agreement. Also marriage is only provided legally based on necessity and not on choice. If it was provided by choice, provisions need to be made for other choices leaving loopholes in the laws.

Which leads us to this conclusion: Marriage is allowed based on necessity and not choice.

This does not prevent the government from creating provisions for financial unions of people who are are incapable of having children, in agreement to not have children, have decided not to take care of children, or are in a same sex relationship.
